The staff and trustees of the Zoological Society of East Anglia are delighted that Africa Alive! was announced as winner of the Best Large Visitor Attraction at the Norfolk & Suffolk Tourism Awards on Thursday 28th February held at the Open in Norwich.
These awards honour those businesses and attractions who showcase the very best of what Norfolk and Suffolk have to offer in the tourism sector.
When announcing the award for Best Large Visitor Attraction, Peter Williamson, chair of Norfolk & Suffolk Attractions, and judge of the category, described the park as “the incredible Africa Alive!”
Africa Alive! is part of the “Zoological Society of East Anglia” (ZSEA), a charitable trust since 2103. The park retains its long-standing ethos of delivering high quality customer care and excellent value for money, with a strong emphasis on education, respect for the environment and wildlife conservation.
At Easter the park welcomes its newest arrivals, the red river hogs, in their brand new enclosure “Hog Snorts”. Throughout 2019 there are lots of additional events planned and special appearances from children’s favourites including Peppa Pig, The Gruffalo, and Paw Patrol’s Chase & Marshall, to name but a few. The Mighty Zulu Nation Theatre Company are also back by popular demand at weekends from 27th July – 1st September with a brand new performance.
David Field, CEO of the Zoological Society of East Anglia, said “It’s a wonderful acknowledgement of our staff, volunteers, visitors and of course the amazing African animals that call Africa Alive! home. We look forward to welcoming our visitors this year to experience at first hand all that our award-winning park has to offer”.
