“Hog Snorts” our brand new interactive habitat opened on Saturday 6th April. Home to some very unusual, and rather spectacular looking, Red River Hogs as well as a number of Sitatunga antelope.

Red River HogThe male called Kinshasa was born at Chester Zoo and arrived at Africa Alive! in February, he is the smallest of the three and is affectionately known as Biglet to the keepers at the park due to his size.  The two females, Rebeca and Rosie, are sisters and arrived from Liseux Zoo in France early March.

“Hog Snorts” will enable visitors to interact with the residents in new and unique ways and we look forward to introducing our visitors to our ‘Punk’ pigs!
