Timed entry

Important Information
To comply with government regulations on social distancing, we have implemented a timed entry booking system. All visitors will be required to purchase their tickets in advance online, simply select your preferred date and time at the checkout. Help feed our animals – please don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box when you buy your tickets!

In line with new Covid-19 legislation, we ask that you only visit the zoo with; the people in your household (including your support bubble or childcare bubble) OR one other person outside your household.


Changes for Tier 4

  • The zoo’s opening times will now be from 10am – 2pm until further notice.

  • The retail shop will be closed to visitors, although products can still be ordered from our online shop.

  • Please be aware the following displays are currently closed due to Covid-19 precautions: The Discovery Centre, Safari Roadtrain, Lemur Encounters, The Wild Zone. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

  • ALL INDOOR AREAS ARE NOW CLOSED. Although Bongo Bites will still be available through a hatch  takeaway service only.

  • All Children Under 3 are now required to pay a £1 token entrance to ensure the zoos survival.

  • Annual Passes for Under 3’s cost £10 for One Year and £15 for Two Years.

  • For safety, we are now CASHLESS. Payment is only accepted by credit, debit or gift card in the zoo

  • Once booked, Don’t forget to bring your e-ticket!

I have a NHS /Blue Light Card/Defence Discount Card - how do I book?

Any member of the NHS or those with a Blue Light or Defence Discount Card will have 10% off their ticket price for their entire family group. This only applies to day ticket.

You will need to show identification to prove your NHS, Blue Light Card, Defence status at admission to ensure smooth entry to the zoo.

I have a Blue Peter Badge - how do I book?

Tickets only need to be purchased for those who are to be paid for. Blue Peter badge child(ren) do not require a ticket but will need to bring their badge and ID card for admission.

I have a complimentary/pre-paid ticket - how do I redeem this?

Tickets only need to be purchased for those who are to be paid for. Visitors using complimentary tickets do not need to pre-book and can arrive with the rest of the party.

Do I need to bring an e-ticket?

All that is needed for arrival at admission is the booking reference number and the name of the booker.

How do I use my gift voucher/card to book online?

Gift vouchers/cards can be used to prebook a visit. However, they can only be used by prebooking over the phone and not online. Please call Guest Services on 01502 740291 to book.

Which areas will be closed?

The following displays and attractions will remain closed until further notice:

  • The Gift Shop
  • Lemur Encounters
  • The Wild Zone
  • Safari Roadtrain
  • All catering outlets - except Bongo Bites which offers a takeaway service.
Can I only stay in the zoo during my booked time slot?

The admissions arrival time is not the length of time of your visit. This is purely an entry time only. Once through admissions guests can spend as much time as they like in the zoo up until closing.

Can I return to my car during my visit?

Guests can return to their car during their visit, they just need to show a receipt or booking reference to staff at admissions.

Can I bring a picnic?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own picnic to Banham Zoo and we have lots of outdoor seating areas around the Zoo for picnic use.
