Below are some of the frequently asked questions that we receive:
Q: When can I book my one free teacher familiarisation visit?
A: This can only be booked once we have received your booking deposit.
Q: How much time should be allocated for a school / group visit to the park?
A: Allow four hours, especially if you want to include a Discovery Session.
Q: Can food be pre-ordered?
A: Yes, group meals can be ordered in advance. Please call Guest Services Team on 01502 740291 option 1 to book. Bookings should be made at least two weeks before your visit.
Q: If it is wet, is there anywhere to eat our packed lunches?
A: Yes, there is an undercover picnic area next to the ‘WildZone’.
Q: Do school children need to be accompanied?
A: For Health & Safety reasons, we ask that school children up to the age of 16 are accompanied by a group leader at all times.
Q: How far in advance do I need to book?
A: To avoid disappointment, it is recommended that bookings are made around 3 weeks before the day of visit. A deposit is required to secure the booking at least 10 days before the visit. The balance is paid on or before the day of visit. For more information about bookings please visit our bookings enquiry page. Due to Covid-19, we do need to pre book timed entrance slots to ensure no more than 250 people enter the zoo in a one hour period so allow enough time to avoid disappointment.
Q: Can we pay on the day?
A: A deposit is required to secure the booking at least 10 days before the visit.An invoice will be issued on the day of your visit for the remaining balance due, which is to be paid within 10 days of the invoice date. For more information about bookings please visit our bookings enquiry page.
Q: Is there a place where we can store our bags?
A: Please contact Guest Information if you would like to arrange an area to store your packed lunches (subject to availability).
Q: Can we pre-book the road train?
A: The Safari Roadtrain is free and groups are welcome to use it during their visit without pre-booking. However if you would like to pre-book for your group’s exclusive use, please contact our Guest Services Team on 01502 740291 option 1 for prices and times. Please note however the road train is currently closed due to COVID and to ensure the necessary social distancing requirements are adhered to.
Q: How do the school children collect their medals?
A: To save time and confusion, a teacher/leader will be given the medals at admissions for the whole group which can be handed out on the coach or at the end of their visit.
