Pygmy goats are a breed of domesticated goat recognisable by their small size. Goats are believed to have been first domesticated over 6,000 years ago.

Habitat
There are many breeds of domesticated goat, spread throughout the world. Pygmy goats originate from Africa.

Diet
Goats are browsers and thrive in hilly, dry areas where other domestic livestock would be unable to find sufficient food.

Breeding
The female goat, or nanny, gives birth to one or two young, or kids, after a pregnancy of about 5 months. They are able to run and jump vigorously soon after birth.
