Conservation & the Role of Zoos
Find out why zoos are important and how they can contribute to conservation, education and research.
An insider’s look at customer care at the park. This presentation covers internal and external customers, each department’s role, handling complaints, training and evaluation.
Health & Safety at the Park
Here at the park, health and safety is very important to us! This presentation gives you an inside look at visitor, staff and animal health and safety case studies, and also covers risk assessments, training and legislation.
Science in the Workplace
Covering points of Science in the Workplace or Vocational Science syllabuses including; how we use science at Africa Alive!, careers in science and qualifications.
An insider’s look at how a zoo is run! Covering points including: business structure, SWOT analysis, information technology, Health & Safety, and careers.
Visitors are essential for the park’s survival! This session looks at how we attract visitors, the 4 P’s and the marketing media we use.
Nutrition & Enrichment
Feeding zoo animals may not be as easy as it sounds! Each has specific nutritional requirements and challenges associated with keeping them healthy. This presentation looks at the essentials of good animal nutrition and the various methods of environmental enrichment used at the park.
We encourage photographs to be taken as they make a wonderful addition to a child’s learning journey. Please ensure all relevant consent has been obtained.
- Sessions last approximately 45 mins and can seat up to 30 people
- Sessions are charged at £20 and include an education pack with worksheets
